Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: March 17, 2026
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
Cancerosion is committed to ensuring that our website, digital content, and services are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We believe that every person navigating a cancer diagnosis deserves equal access to the information, resources, and support we provide, regardless of ability.
Accessibility is not only a legal responsibility. It is a reflection of the values that define our work as an ICF-certified coaching practice: Professionalism, Collaboration, Humanity, and Equity. The 2025 ICF Code of Ethics calls on coaching professionals to recognize and address barriers to access, and we take that obligation seriously in our digital presence as well as in our coaching relationships.
We recognize that many of the people we serve may be experiencing the physical, cognitive, and emotional effects of cancer and its treatment. These effects can include fatigue, difficulty concentrating, vision changes, and reduced motor function. Our commitment to accessibility reflects our understanding that the people who need our resources most may also face the greatest barriers to accessing them.
2. Accessibility Standards We Follow
We strive to ensure that our website, www.cancerosion.org, conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. It is also the technical standard referenced in guidance from the U.S. Department of Justice regarding website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
WCAG 2.1 Level AA addresses accessibility for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. The guidelines are organized around four principles that require web content to be:
-
Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, and content that can be presented in different ways without losing meaning.
-
Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable. This means all functionality must be available from a keyboard, users must have enough time to read and use content, and content must not be designed in a way that is known to cause seizures or physical reactions.
-
Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. This includes making text readable and predictable and helping users avoid and correct mistakes.
-
Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies such as screen readers.
3. Accessibility Measures We Take
Cancerosion takes the following measures to support the accessibility of our website and digital content:
3.1 Website Design and Development
-
We use semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
-
We provide descriptive alternative text for images, graphics, and other non-text content.
-
We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements, consistent with WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.
-
We ensure that all interactive elements, including navigation menus, links, buttons, and forms, are accessible via keyboard navigation.
-
We use clear, descriptive link text so that users can understand the purpose of each link without relying on surrounding context.
-
We avoid the use of color alone to convey meaning or important information.
-
We design forms with clear labels, instructions, and error messages to help users complete them accurately.
3.2 Content and Communication
-
We write our content in clear, plain language to make it accessible to people with varying levels of literacy, including those experiencing cognitive effects of cancer treatment.
-
We structure blog posts, educational resources, and research reports with headings, subheadings, and organized sections to support easy navigation and comprehension.
-
Where we publish video content, we strive to provide captions or transcripts to make the content accessible to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
-
Where we publish audio content (such as podcast episodes or recorded webinars), we strive to provide written transcripts.
-
We use readable font sizes and avoid overly decorative typography that may be difficult to read for individuals with visual impairments.
3.3 Coaching Services
-
We offer coaching sessions via multiple communication formats, including video conferencing, phone, and email, to accommodate diverse accessibility needs and preferences.
-
We are open to discussing alternative formats or accommodations for coaching materials, intake forms, and other service-related documents upon request.
-
We welcome conversations about how we can adapt our coaching process to meet your individual accessibility needs. If you require a specific accommodation, please contact us and we will work with you to find a suitable solution.
4. Known Limitations
While we are committed to making our website as accessible as possible, we acknowledge that some content may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Known limitations may include:
-
Third-party content and embedded elements: Our website uses third-party tools and platforms for scheduling, payment processing, email subscriptions, and social media integration. While we select vendors with accessibility in mind, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Where we identify accessibility barriers in third-party tools, we work to provide alternative ways for users to access the same functionality.
-
Legacy content: Some older blog posts, downloadable resources, or archived materials may not yet meet current accessibility standards. We are working to review and update this content on an ongoing basis.
-
PDF documents: Some downloadable resources may be in PDF format, which can present accessibility challenges for screen readers. Where possible, we provide alternative formats or equivalent HTML content. If you need a specific document in an accessible format, please contact us.
-
Multimedia content: Not all video or audio content may yet have captions or transcripts. We are working to add captions and transcripts to all multimedia content and prioritize new content for accessibility.
Our website is hosted on the Wix platform. While Wix provides built-in accessibility features and tools, the platform has certain limitations that may affect our ability to achieve full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance in all areas. We actively work within the capabilities of the platform to maximize accessibility and monitor Wix's ongoing accessibility improvements.
5. Our Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time achievement. It is an ongoing commitment that requires continuous attention and improvement. We are dedicated to the following ongoing efforts:
-
Conducting periodic reviews of our website content and functionality against WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria.
-
Incorporating accessibility considerations into the creation of all new content, including blog posts, coaching materials, research reports, and downloadable resources.

9. Legal Framework
This accessibility statement has been prepared with reference to the following legal and technical frameworks:
-
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Title III of the ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation. The U.S. Department of Justice has issued guidance indicating that websites of businesses open to the public should be accessible to people with disabilities.
-
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1: Published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the widely accepted technical standard for website accessibility and is the standard referenced in ADA Title II rulemaking and DOJ guidance for private businesses.
-
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: While Section 508 applies primarily to federal agencies and organizations receiving federal funding, its technical standards (based on WCAG) provide a useful benchmark for accessibility best practices applicable to all organizations.
-
Florida State Law: The State of Florida requires that state and local government websites be accessible. While this requirement does not directly apply to private businesses, Cancerosion voluntarily adopts these standards as a reflection of our commitment to serving all individuals equitably.
10. Accessibility and Our Coaching Values
As an ICF-certified coaching practice, Cancerosion operates in alignment with the ICF Core Values of Professionalism, Collaboration, Humanity, and Equity. Our commitment to accessibility is a direct expression of these values.
The 2025 ICF Code of Ethics calls on coaching professionals to recognize systemic barriers and to take proactive steps to ensure equitable access to coaching services. For Cancerosion, this means ensuring that our digital presence is as inclusive and accessible as our coaching practice itself.
We serve individuals who are navigating one of the most challenging experiences of their lives. Many of our clients may be dealing with treatment-related fatigue, cognitive changes sometimes referred to as "chemo brain," vision impairment, hearing loss, or reduced motor function. Designing our website and services with accessibility in mind is not an afterthought. It is a core part of how we fulfill our mission to empower, educate, and support every person who reaches out to us.
11. Updates to This Statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement periodically to reflect improvements to our website, changes in accessibility standards, or updates to our practices. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this statement periodically to stay informed about our accessibility efforts.
